The City of Loveland Economic Development Department is dedicated to fostering economic growth by supporting over 3,700 local businesses. As a top priority within the City's strategic plan, economic development plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term vitality and sustainability of the community. The department is divided into two divisions: Business Development and Visit Loveland.
The Economic Development and the Visit Loveland strategic plans serve as guiding documents approved by City Council. As such, they guide the actions of staff within the Economic Development Department.
Business Development
The Business Development team plays a crucial role in stimulating private sector investment, which drives business attraction, retention, job creation, workforce development, and business expansion. These efforts contribute significantly to local economic success. This team’s operations are funded by the City of Loveland's General Fund, representing less than 5% of the City’s total budget.
Visit Loveland
The Visit Loveland team focuses on destination marketing and tourism, which brings revenue into the community and generates positive economic impacts. This team is funded by a 3% lodging tax, paid by guests who stay in hotels, short-term rentals, and other accommodations for less than 30 days. Additionally, the team manages the Loveland Visitor Center at 5400 Stone Creek Circle.
